New Chairman for Chester
09 October 2009 12:42:00

Chester City have announced the appointment of Ian Anderson as chairman of the Blue Square Premier club.

Anderson, who has a legal practice in the city, has served on the board of directors for the past two years.

He said: “It’s a difficult task but I am relishing the opportunity of getting more involved on a day to day basis with the club.

“I am looking forward to working with Jim Harvey and Tim Ryan and now we want to take the club forward and create stability at the Deva Stadium.”

Current owner, Stephen Vaughan, who owns 100% of City, will not be taking a position on the board of directors.

Meanwhile, City hope to complete the loan signing of former striker Mark Beesley.

The 28-year-old Lancaster-born player was with Chester from August 2000 until December 2003., when he was transferred to Hereford United.

During his first spell he scored thirty-two goals in nearly 100 senior outings.
