U`s Forced to Come Back From Behind to Go Through
25 October 2009 17:35:00

Blue Square Premier club Cambridge United had to come back from being an early goal behind before making it through to the First Round of the FA Cup on Sunday at Ashby Avenue against UniBond League Division One South hosts Lincoln United.

Former Notts County and Lincoln City man Jamie Forrester shocked the visiting fans by giving the underdogs a 3rd minute lead with a speculative lob from fully 30 yards.

However, after forcing U`s keeper Danny Potter into a fine save minutes later, the home side – three rungs below in the non-League Pyramid – were overwhelmed.

Rory McAuley equalised with his first senior goal after 35 minutes and just 5 minutes later Robbie Willmott gave the visitors the lead.

Just before the break it was 3-1 as Wayne Hatswell (pictured) headed home from a corner to vitually make it game over.

Cambridge had few scares in the second half and eased through to meet Blue Square North side Ilkeston Town in the First Round Proper.
