Crawley Town boss Steve Evans says his players will be fully charged up and ready for the visit next Saturday of leaders Stevenage Borough, another big match for both teams as both need to take maximum points from the game.
Subject to no knocks or strains being picked up in what will be an intensive weeks training ahead the manager will have a full strength squad to choose from after both Adam Quinn and Eddie Hutchinson came through two reserve matches last midweek unscathed.
Borough boss Graham Westley will know that his team`s trip to The Broadfield Stadium which is followed by a home match with Oxford United will be pivotal to their chances of taking the league title.
Evans said: '' I am really not interested in what the game means to Stevenage Boroughs title aspirations, they have enough resources, players and staff to deal with that challenge over the course of the season, I am only interested in making sure we are fully prepared to take on the challenge of beating who I think are the best team in the Blue Square Premier.
“We have been on a fantastic run since early December, in large the performances have been full of quality football, have been equalled with endeavour and that has seen us get some memorable victories but given the quality of player that Stevenage Borough have I know we will need to again be at our best to get the victory over such a quality team.
“The only objective the lads have here is to win as many points as possible between now and the end of the season. For a club with our team budget to be eighth in The Blue Square Premier this morning, looking at the likes of Mansfield Town, Kidderminster Harriers, Wrexham, Cambridge United all behind us tells you we have come forward significantly but I do feel we could have done even better so far, As a manager you cannot help but think back over matches we should have won but at the opposite end we have had some fantastic wins.
“I have said many times, the lads here are a terrific squad, as good as any you would wish to work with. They come to work looking forward to it, there is a smile on their faces and we know that does not happen naturally, football is a tough business especially in these severe economic times.
“It has taken the current owners a long time to put this football club into the shape it is but there is so much more work to be done. At a meeting in the last week Bruce Winfield commented that he thought the football side of the club business was miles in front of the rest of the business, a huge compliment from a man who does not give them out lightly and chooses his words carefully.
“The players will enjoy a weekend off; - they deserve that but they will be working hard again on Monday that I do know. Paul Raynor and myself will be a different matches watching future opposition, we pride ourselves in ensuring our players are fully prepared for the challenges ahead, there is plenty of them but even I know our next two with Stevenage Borough and Rushden & Diamonds are extra, extra tough.''
