Micky Moore, who rejected the chance to become Redditch United’s manager, will face his old team next season as a member of Blue Square Bet North newcomers` Nuneaton Town’s back-room staff.
Moore, who had been the Reds number two, admits coaching remains his first love, and he has accepted the chance to become coach at the newly-promoted club.
Manager Kevin Wilkin said: “I am delighted with Mickey’s decision. He has a wealth of knowledge of the northern leagues and is based well the other side of Birmingham. It plugs a gap in our scouting abilities too.
“I tried to get him to join us last season but he was offered Redditch’s assistants job, which turned into the full offer.”
Chairman Ian Neale disclosed he and Wilkin met Moore on Monday night where they discussed the potential blue print for move the club forward, particularly developing the clubs growing younger talent.
Former Republic of Ireland defender Kenny Cunningham, will still be a feature at the club and its growing coaching staff. “The aim is to be able to rise to the challenge of the Blue Square North and to strengthen of position next season and beyond”, said Neale.
