Experienced former England C` international defender Chris Blackburn has left Coca-Cola League Two side Aldershot Town to join Blue Square Bet Premier side Wrexham on a two-year deal.
Blackburn, 27 joined the Shots in May 2008 after being released by Swindon Town and went on to be a first-team regular at the Recreation Ground, making eighty-seven appearances.
He began his career at his home-town club Chester City before joining Northwich Victoria in 2003.
Blackburn (pictured), the nephew of Manchester City legend Alan Oakes, moved to Morecambe in 2004 and helped the Shrimps into the Football League in 2007.
He chose to move to Swindon in the summer of 2007, and spent the final two months of the season on loan at Weymouth before joining the Shots.
His final outing for Aldershot came in the 1-0 defeat to Morecambe on the final day of the regular season as he was ruled out of the play-off semi final matches against Rotherham through injury.
